Might Get Loud!

If you're in the mood to stay home and watch a video, I highly recommend
"It Might Get Loud". I got this the other day, and WOW, it is
superb. Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White together talking and riffing.
Great insight into the creative process, and PRICELESS footage from the past.
Here's the trailer, which doesn't do the film justice. I'm going to renew this and watch again. Also has a good interview from the Toronto Presser, and deleted scenes.

My fav parts were many, but I esp. enjoyed watching Page explore the mansion where Led Zeppelin recorded their ground breaking works. Page's history is very interesting, to say the least. I came across this great article about Jimmy's life. He sure survived a lot and lived to tell.  You can do a search on YouTube for the film and see other vids related to the documentary, and it seems people recorded their favorite scenes too.

I also discovered Led Zeppelin.com, better late than never.
This site has a wealth of video's grouped by year, location, etc.
What fun to see all these, and some interviews. I loved their concert film
"The Song Remains the Same" that also had fantasy sequences.

In case you missed my other post on the latest cool movies coming out,
you can find it RIGHT HERE. Let me know which films you saw, and how you liked them. BTW, I recently rented "Robin Hood" and thought that was stellar too.

Remembrance Day Sunday Ceremonies ~ Lest We Forget

I don't have much to write today, except I am very sad remembering my ancestors, and thinking of all my friends who's family gave the ultimate sacrifice of bravery to protect our Freedoms. May God rest their souls, and bring comfort to the grieving family and friends left behind. Watch this beautiful video, it will bring a tear to your eyes, no matter which side of the pond you live on.

Today there are many ceremonies in England, as it is Remembrance Sunday.
The Queen lead the mourning ceremonies in London.
Here is the article, with many photo's, from the Guardian UK.
I must add I am quite annoyed with photo # 8/10! Their looks speak volumes!

I wish all these senseless wars, especially the one we are all engaged in now,
would cease. So many young lives cut short, for very wrong reasons, I think.
May God protect all the Brave Military members of both the USA, UK
and all our good allies. May all our enemies know just a fraction of the pain
I, and others who have lost loved ones, have felt.

Meanwhile, the Brave Generation that survived the War in England are
letting their views be known on the state of affairs today, from the Daily Mail UK.

Hat tip to Lawson for posting this illuminating and very true article on his FB page, where I first saw it. I hope the library has this book, I would love to read it.
The authors have a web page, and they made a YouTube Video, as well.
Their YouTube Channel has lots of interesting interviews with
World War 2 Veterans. You can find the main channel HERE.

UPDATE ~~~~> Update! My blogging friend, The Kid, was kind enough to share a few stories from his Father's Service in WWII in the comments, they are WONDERFUL, and I am posting below! Be sure to Visit & Follow Kid's Blog!

My Dad walked Italy, France and Germany in WWII as as infantry Seargent. I can't even imagine. And he only told 3 humorous stories about the whole thing.

1. He was in France, and had been given a couple bottles of wine by a gratified Frenchman. Some Germans started shooting at him as he was working his way through a field with the rest of his men. The movement from the running caused one of the bottles to pop its cork which hit him good in the lower jaw. He went down and thought he was shot.

2. He and another soldier were walking down the street of an Italian town. A sniper shot and hit his friends belt buckle, which caused his pants to go down around his ankles..

And I can't remember the third one right now, but it was a similar story. It's pretty amazing, but the vast majority of those guys came back in really good mental condition and good spirits. Really not much PTSD. They came back as heroes who had just kicked the world's ass and took names. Things weren't easy for them here. They all had to find work and make a life. Most of them did very well from what I can tell. I never heard a story of a man having trouble from the war. Well, actually the guys I did hear having some trouble were a couple of the guys in the famous picture standing up the flagpole at Iwo Jima. Odd isn't it.

If I remember the third one, I'll pass it along.

Remembrance Weekend, Honoring All Veterans PLUS Fun Music for the Weekend!

It was very heartwarming, and also quite saddening, to see all the ceremonies yesterday, Veteran's Day, and Remembrance Day in England. Most all my great blogging friends did posts honoring the day, too many to link here, visit my
Blogroll to the right and you'll be very happy you did ~~~~~>

I wanted to wait to do my post until some video's were uploaded. Here is a very touching video showing a bit of the Veteran's Day Ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery yesterday. We will never forget the many sacrifices all our brave men and women made during the many wars to guard & keep our freedoms. As they say, freedom is NOT free, and we should not take their ultimate gifts to us for granted. May all the Fallen Rest in Peace, and be held warmly in the hand of God for their eternal rest, until we meet them again when we leave this earth.

Wednesday night, I enjoyed the CMA Awards! 3 hours of pure entertainment and patriotism, plus glamour and fun, with love and tears.
If you missed the show, here is the official website, with all sorts of links and photo's.
I loved how all the stars signed a golden car and donated it for auction for the Wounded Warrior Project. The Country Entertainers are the most Patriotic group of artists in music around, in my opinion, and the 2010 show was no exception!

I think the Performers get better every year, and I'm so happy Brad Paisley finally won Entertainer of the Year. His acceptance speech honoring his grandfather brought a tear to many eyes, including mine. Brad has SO many cool video's, here's a real fun one.

Since it's also the weekend, you should watch his video on "Alcohol", too, hee hee.
Click My YouTube Channel icon on the right sidebar, I've featured it ;-)
You can always do a keyword search on my Channel for this and anything else you might like to see, as well. Miranda Lambert won Female of the Year & also for a really nice song too, and her fiancee, Blake Shelton, won for his category, too. What a super birthday present for her, and this will guarantee no fighting as to who won what ;-)
It's so nice to see happy couples. Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman looked radiant, as well. Lady Antebellum and Sugarland also were great. I'm glad they walked away with Awards. I still haven't seen the appeal of Taylor Swift, and thankfully she didn't monopolize any awards. She's ok, but over-rated. Even Gwyneth Paltrow performed, she didn't totally suck. Probably due to Vince Gill also singing with her.

Of course I adored Carrie Underwood, she is so beautiful and talented, and was a super fun host along with Brad Paisley. They were a great duo, and I think they will continue their hosting duties, if the CMA has the good sense to keep them next year.

Kid Rock also was a Performer, he is maturing and did a great live version of his new
single, "Born Free". Remember, we all were born free, and we have to fight to keep it that way! I love this video, so much gorgeous scenery of the fall and the lovely nation we call home.

I hope you all get out this weekend and enjoy the beautiful fall season, which happens to be my favorite time of year! Especially these last few days, it's been unseasonably warm here, and today is the last day for that. I will be remembering all our Veterans this weekend, and every weekend. A BIG Thank You to all my friends and their families who have served their countries, and kept us FREE!
I hope we all can stay that way, given the state of affairs these days ;-)

Monday Movie Fun with Bun

It's a beautiful, relatively warm Monday today, and I hope everyone's weekend was great. I was very, very busy. I want to start your week off happily, so here is a video of something to look forward too. The new Harry Potter movie, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" is set to open November 19th. This one looks like the most interesting one yet, very dark, with some really good themes of good vs. evil, and Harry more grown up. I usually wait until these flicks go to video, but I might go to the local theatre for this one, I haven't been in ages!

If you enjoyed that, Harry has his very own YouTube Channel. It is very professionally set up, a lovely layout, with loads of different vids, and interviews.

Also opening the same day is another VERY exciting looking flick "The Next Three Days" Starring Russell Crowe & Liam Neeson, two of my fav actors. This looks very entertaining and thrilling. I would want these guys on my side to help if I was in
the kind of trouble the leading lady is. Check it out.

As long as you're watching trailers, here's a film that's currently showing
"Skyline". As if we don't have enough to worry about, now there's this.
Aliens (and not the current illegal ones) invading earth. I wonder if
bammy will want to give THEM amnesty and put them on the voting rolls?

Hope you enjoyed your movie break! I'm going to hit the RedBox today, because I got coupons (2) for a total of 4 FREE Rentals. Walgreens has a great sale promo, buy a pack of 20 AA or AAA batteries for $8 (already a super price), and the coupons print at checkout! I am a very price conscious shopper, and Love Sunday's for all the stores ads, plus mfg. coupons. I'm sure there will be cool movies I've wanted to see for ages, because I haven't been to the theatre in months. Also, I've discovered Blockbuster has a "Blue Box" in food stores, also Rental for $1 a day! So, between the stores I frequent, I"m sure I"ll find something to keep me amused and entertained, I hope you do too.
If not, you can always watch re-runs of the Sunday news shows, they were funny.

A Good Time!

What a wonderful night it was last night, election nights are always fun in the Bunni Bunker, esp. these mid-terms. I had predicted things were going to turn out VERY well for the Republicans, and I, along with many other smart people, was right! Those cute stomping baby elephants on my Halloween video's were prophetic, don't you agree?

It was loads of fun participating in the live blog chat put together by the ASE, Grumpy Old Twat, Barking Spider, Biased BBC, etc. Great comments and amusing commentary. Those guys take politics very seriously. They started at 7 pm central, and were still going strong past 3:00 AM UK Time....when I left, around 10:00 pm here. I was tired and went to lie down and watch the news. I fell asleep, and many key Illinois races still had not been decided yet. While on the live chat, we watched loads of great acceptance speeches via FOX News, and also followed Twitter and other feeds. I was particularly impressed with Marco Rubio of Florida. That young man with a real love of America
and such a beautiful family is going places. He is true Presidential or Vice Presidential material, IMHO. Many other folks gave rousing speeches too, both the winners and those who didn't.

So, I watched the news, most all the dimwitted dems in Chicago were winning, no surprise there, so I was getting bored and drifted off to sleep. I woke up around 12:30 am, and was greeted with the lovely news conference of Mark Kirk, (R), I bolted out of bed and shouted "Praise the Lord". I can't tell you how HAPPY I was! This is a very big deal, and perhaps the most humiliating loss for o. That it happened in this town, where all sorts of shenanigans go on, is even sweeter! I almost couldn't believe my happy ears! Prayers are answered sometimes! We won the house, and
took back bammy's seat. Hopefully Mark will fumigate the cushions first ;-)

Say what you will about Mark Kirk, he had been called a RINO and such, but face it....he HAD to win to advance the good agenda for America. Look at the alternative,'nuff said. Here is a portion of his victory speech, which I really enjoyed!

We are still waiting to see if Bill Brady, the (R) will win for IL Governor. He is NOT conceding to the current creep Quinn, (Blago's VP and replacement). He's behind only about 8,000 votes, and lots have NOT BEEN COUNTED YET! The news is reporting it could take maybe a MONTH! Well, call me cynical, but I think this might end badly, too much "playing around" could go on with absentee ballots, mailed votes, the out of town Military vote, etc. etc. Plus, look who's doing the counting! Well,
if we get Quinn, it will truly suck, he's going to raise IL taxes THROUGH THE ROOF!
But still, if one of them had to win or loose, it's better MARK KIRK WON!

Another wonderful result of the elections is that pelousy and her overgrown gavel have been sent out to the trash heap of history! Yipee! That's some great news, let's sing!

And then this afternoon, all the pols & pundits were trying to figure what happened.

I'm very proud of Illinois this time, we even have more sense than California. How they re-elected boxer and moonbeam brown, I'll never know. Plus, Nevada has lost it's marbles, along with it's solvency, putting dirty harry back in. Not to mention bawwny frank? What is wrong with people, they are truly beyond reason. Oh well, can't win them all! I will be happy with Kirk's win! It's Awesome and I am singing this
soaring rendition all day today, enjoy!

PS: I wonder if Alexi will take Mark up on his offer.
at The Billy Goat's! Brilliant move on Mark's part. Alexi will almost have to, or
risk looking like a jerk if he doesn't.

Use it while you have it!
